The coffee table is made up of thick brass plates, rounded at the ends and of different lengths, folded and placed together with irregularities to create a rhythmic movement. Each element presents a distinctive pattern of imprints that dissolve into a delicate degradé of signs, in contrast with the smooth surface of the metal. The signs imprinted on the surface of Xilo are a memory of manual workmanship which testifies to De Castelli’s high craftsmanship and are the result of continuous research into the material.

Any differences between the finished product and supplied samples are not to be considered as defects, but as inherent characteristics deriving from the manual working process which may result in variations to the colour, finish and homogeneity of the final product. These variations cannot be considered defects. It should also be remembered that metal can show colour variations from one batch to another.
