The materials used guarantee stability while maintaining a very low weight. Merano from the collectionDesign & Woodis a modern chair named after the birthplace of the Italian designer Alexander Gufler. The dominant elements of the chair are two sheets of curved plywood that intersect with each other, acting as a seat and backrest. Despite the curves, the legs of the chair (the load-bearing element) support the traditional bend of Ton products.

Beech wood: best known and most commonly used deciduous trees. Beech wood is light to pinkish in colour and features texture that is not very distinctive. The wood is hard, relatively strong, less elastic, homogeneous and dense.
The standard surface finish for beech is either lacquered (water based varnish, UV protective, easy to clean and maintain) or oiled (matt protective layer that does not peel or crack and allows wood to breathe; minor damages can be sanded and re-oiled with this surface treatment; oil also brings out the natural colour of the wood). American Walnut is only supplied in oiled finish.
